Who is behind this
I was given my first calendar by a friend who put it in my hand and said this might be an interesting way of following time — take it and have a look!
That was in 2002.
TAHDISTIN has been put together by Anneli Leivo.
Ever since, she has followed its rhythm, one day at a time.
The system has its roots in the Maya Tzolkin and in the Argüelles' Dreamspell.
What these mean
Tone symbol means a color, a tone and a symbol together — for example Blue Solar Hand. Every day has its own tone symbol. The tone symbol of a birthday is the one that fell on that day, and it is worked out the same way.
Symbol is one of twenty. It tells you what quality the day has — what it is about.
Tone is a number from one to thirteen. It tells you where you are in the thirteen-day wave cycle: at the beginning, in the middle or at the end.
Color comes from the symbol. Four colors follow in order: red, white, blue, yellow.
Reflection is one sentence, written for that day alone. There are 260 of them, one for each. They are seeds of a story: a starting point for your own thinking.
Twenty symbols and thirteen tones together make 260 days. Once they have all been passed, the cycle starts again.
Privacy
Your birthday never leaves this page. Everything is worked out in your own browser. The dates you enter are not stored, not sent anywhere and seen by no one else.
This page uses no cookies and no outside tracking services.
The server keeps an ordinary log of every visit: the time, the IP address, the address opened, the browser identifier and the page you came from. It also records whether a tone symbol was calculated or an image was saved — but not which tone symbol it was. This is used only to find out how many people find the page, and by which route.
Log data is kept for 30 days and then deleted.
